If your Gamer project's broadcast is running into stream quality issues like resolution degradation, stuttering, rubber banding, lag, etc., there are a few things you can check to make sure it’s optimized for your stream.
Resolution Mismatch:
The first thing you’ll want to do is check that your console broadcast resolution matches your Gamer project output. You’ll set your resolution on your console before going live and you can adjust your Gamer project resolution with the steps here.
For more info on our recommended resolutions & frame rates to use with your Gamer project, you can take a look at our article here and then compare them to your console or mobile device upload speeds.
Framerate & Bitrate
Currently the Xbox itself can only output at 30 FPS. As a result, Xbox users will want to make sure their gamer project is set to 30 fps rather than 60 to avoid any stutter due to mismatched frame rates. You can find more information on recommended bitrates here.
Layer heavy or resource-intensive Gamer project
Sometimes having too many layers or a lot of resource intensive layers in your project can cause some hiccups in your broadcast. Simplifying your project where possible can help.
You’ll also want to ensure your computer meets our System Requirements for running hardware, such as cameras or microphones, through it instead of your console.
Connection Strength & Type
The final important factor involved in streaming is your connectivity, both in terms of your internet upload speed but, sometimes even more importantly, it can be related to your connection’s stability. Switching from Wi-Fi to a hard wired connection into your modem or router with an ethernet cable running to your hardware can help provide the strongest connection possible.
If none of the above helps and you’ve already confirmed you meet the system requirements for running our software, feel free to reach out through our live chat support at the bottom right corner of your project.
