All information in this guide is to be used for setting up RTMP Sources inside of Lightstream Studio.
Creating your RTMP Source
The first thing you need to do before bringing in your content from OBS is to create a new RTMP Source layer in your Studio project. Then, add the layer to your scene, and finally, copy your stream key for use in the next step.
Setting up OBS
Here are the settings we recommend for sending your broadcast to an RTMP Source:
Stream
Service: Custom
Server: rtmp://ingest.golightstream.com/inbound/
Stream Key: Your personal key found on the RTMP Source
Output
Output Mode: Advanced
Resolution : You will want this to match the resolution of your RTMP Source layer inside of your project Bitrate : Will be dependent on the content being sent but we recommend 3000-3500 for a 720p broadcast.
Reminder: Don’t forget to add your source! (Learn more about OBS’s source options HERE.)
Going live to your RTMP Source
Once you’re all set up, hit Start Streaming in OBS, which will then send your content to your RTMP Source. Now, simply go live to your streaming destination using the Go Live button in the top right.
