Browser Screensharing
Screensharing with no downloads required
Browser screensharing works best when capturing programs that don’t involve much movement.
To start screensharing through your browser, you’ll want to press the green “Add Layer” button and then select “Screenshare”. On the new window that pops up, you’ll want to select the type of screensharing you’d like to use as well as the window or screen you wish to share.
Including Audio
When browser screensharing, your audio will only be brought in when ticking the “Share Audio” box when selecting your screen to share. This audio will be brought in through a layer in your Audio Mixer at the bottom left of the project and is independent from the visual screen share itself allowing you to safely delete the screenshare layer if you’d only like your computer’s audio. The options with the ability to share audio will vary depending on the operating system in use.
Note: Sharing "Your Entire Screen" will include all audio on your computer. Where as "Chrome Tab" will only allow the audio from that browser tab.
Your browser will also automatically mute audio in your Lightstream Studio tab once the Screenshare layer with audio is active. So if you wanted to say monitor your alertbox notifications for example, we recommend opening the URL for any integrations in another tab or on another device to hear them.
If you’re a macOS user and having trouble sharing your screen, please view this article for additional steps you may need to take.
